Using the Guides

Side By Side Windows
To get the most benefit from these guides, you need to be able to read them while actually working on your pages. The easiest way to do this is to have two browser windows open side-by-side.

You can do this by right-clicking on the “Home” menu link and select “Open link in new window”. You will then get two versions of the site which you can resize and place next to each other as shown here:

You can then login to your Admin Panel in the left window and follow the guide on the right one as shown here:

Following Guides While Editing

To get to a full-sized work area when editing your page, simply maximize the left browser window. You can then go back to the smaller version to continue following the guide.

Purpose of the Guides
While some people are very familiar with using WordPress, you may not be. I have created these guides to walk you through the various tasks you will need to do as you progress through making your pages.

The guides are purely optional and they are here if you need them. While the editor is much like any word processor, because we are working with a website, we will often need to work with links. These may be to another website or larger versions of your pictures.

If you have never worked with the raw code (HTML) used by a website editor, then it may very well seem like gibberish to you. So I will be explaining what each piece does, and how to modify or add your own. Once you understand the structure of links, it will all make sense and become second nature to you.

Should you ever get stuck and need help, you can always contact me. Getting help is one of the many benefits of becoming a member; you are never left to fend for yourself.
